Genevieve Newlin was born on 16 Feb 1892 in Richmond, IndianaG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Richmond, Wayne Co., Indiana, G in the household of her parents, Charles M. Newlin and Nancy Odenbaugh.17 She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of La Porte, La Porte Co., Indiana G, in the household of her parents.1
     Genevieve married first Edwin Willard Schurz, son of Frederick J. Shurtz and Sarah Elizabeth Riegel, on 26 Oct 1921 in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MichiganG, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Seal Reynolds, with Rev. William Samuel Hess officiating. He was the widower of Mary Edith Morrison.7,8,9
     Genevieve moved to Edwin's home at 1311 Michigan Ave.G after their marriage.18 They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of La Porte, La Porte Co., Indiana, at 1311 Michigan Ave. G, enumerated 19 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $20,000, and owned a radio. Their children Sara and Edwin were listed as living with them, as was Sarah Hostettler, a 30-year-old servant.19
     Genevieve and Edwin moved to 1503 Indiana Ave.G by 1938.20
     Her husband died on 10 Jul 1938 in 1503 Indiana Ave., La Porte, La Porte Co., IndianaG.21,22
     Genevieve appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of La Porte, La Porte Co., Indiana, at 1503 Indiana Ave. G, enumerated 6 Apr 1940, reporting she owned a home valued at $12,000 and had lived in the same city in 1935. Her children Sara and Edwin were listed as living with her.23
     Genevieve married second Paul William LeResche, son of Louis LeResche and Ellen Cartwright, before 1943. He was the widower of Janet B. Ferguson.10,11,12
     Genevieve and Paul appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of La Porte, LaPorte Co., Indiana, at 2011 Michigan Ave. G, enumerated 12 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.24
     Genevieve died on 25 Apr 1967 in La Porte, La Porte Co., IndianaG, at age 75.13,14 She was buried on 27 Apr 1967 in Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, IndianaG.15,16
