Arthur Augusta Bray was born on 16 May 1891 near West Plains, MissouriG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Howell Twp., Howell Co., Missouri, G in the household of his parents, James Knox Polk Bray and Francis America Davis.13
     Arthur married Iva Nellie Reigle, daughter of William David Riegel and Mary J. Quakenbush, on 26 Dec 1913 in West Plaine, Howell Co., MissouriG, after receiving the assent of her mother because she was under age 18.7,8,9
     Arthur registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at West Plains, MissouriG, reporting he was employed as a section laborer by the Frisco Railroad in the same town.2
     Arthur and Ivy and their young daughter moved to ColoradoG between 1917 and 1919. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Adams Co., Colorado G, enumerated 3 Feb 1920, reporting that they were renting their home. Their children Edith and Arthur were listed as living with them.14
     Arthur and Ivy appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ault, Weld Co., Colorado G, enumerated 10 Apr 1930, reporting that they were renting their home, and they owned a radio. Their children Edith, Arthur, and Ervin were listed as living with them.3
      By 1940 he was using a shorted version of his middle name, Gus, even for legal documents.15,16,17
     Arthur and Ivy appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Galeton, Weld Co., Colorado G, enumerated 24 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, and had lived in the same place in 1935. Their children Ervin and a daughter who may still be living were listed as living with them.18
     He was a farm laborer after he moved to Colorado. By 1940 he had his own farm, and reported he had worked 60 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year.19,20,21 He registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at Eaton, Weld Co., ColoradoG, reporting he was self-employed.15
     Arthur and Iva appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Greeley, Weld Co., Colorado, at 2002 8th St. G, enumerated 12 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm and they lived in the same house the year before. Their children Ervin were listed as living with them.16
     He reported in the 1950 census he was unable to work, relatives in the household, presumably his son Ervin, had earned $3,380 the prior year, and members of the household had received $177 in other income.22
     Arthur died on 15 Oct 1972 at age 81.10,11 He was buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley, Weld Co., ColoradoG.12

Georg Albert Gapsch was born on 26 Jun 1867 in Leisnig, Königreich SachsenG.4,5,6 He was baptized on 14 Jul 1867 in St. Matthäi Kirche, LeisnigG. His godparents were his grandfather, Johann Gottlob Huegel; Christiane Huegel, from Mutzschen, who may well have been a sister of his mother; and his father's brother, Edward W. Gapsch.1 He was known to family as Albert Gapsch.2,3
     Georg arrived in New YorkG on 1 Sep 1893, on the Augusta Victoria, having departed Hamburg 24 Aug 1893, traveling in steerage class. He was traveling with Max Richard Gapsch, both saying their destination was San Francisco.10,11,12
     Georg appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of La Platte, Sarpy Co., Nebraska G, enumerated 4 Jun 1900, in the household of Edward Schneckloth and his wife Mary, their ten-year-old son, and her mother, where he was one of two farm workers.13
     Georg apparently returned to Germany to accompany his wife-to-be, Hedwig L. Barthel, to the U.S. They arrived in New YorkG on 22 Mar 1901 on the Pennsylvania, having departed Humburg 10 Mar 1901, traveling in steerage class.14,15,16
     Georg married Hedwig L. Barthel about 1902.7,8,9
     He was naturalized in 1906.17,18,19
     Georg and Hedwig were farmers, apparently jointly operating their farm, but retired by 1930.20,21,22,23,24
     Georg and Hedwig appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Springfield, Sarpy Co., Nebraska G, enumerated 27 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their farm, which was mortgaged.25
     They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Springfield, Sarpy Co., Nebraska G, enumerated 29 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their farm, which was mortgaged.26
     Georg and Hedwig appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Springfield, Sarpy Co., Nebraska G, enumerated 17 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home, for $15 per month, and did not own a radio.27
Research Note, 11 May 2008: It would seem quite possible that Georg Albert Gapsch and Max Richard Gapsch were brothers. Max went to Germany in 1893 and returned with Albert, who was four years younger, both returning to San Fancisco. No further record of Max has been found.28,29

     Max arrived on 15 Mar 1882, aboard the Etiopia from Glasgow.2 He filed a Declaration of Intention to be come naturalized on 28 Jan 1884 in St. Louis, MissouriG, but apparently didn't complete the process before moving to San Francisco.7 He was naturalized on 11 Jan 1892 in San Francisco, CaliforniaG.2
     He applied for a passport in San Francisco, CaliforniaG, on 26 Apr 1893.2 He apparently made the anticipated trip to Germany, and upon his return arrived in New YorkG with Georg Albert Gapsch, on 1 Sep 1893 on the Augusta Victoria, having departed Hamburg 24 Aug 1893, traveling in steerage class.8,9,10
     He was a cook.2,11,12
