Narrative:

Joseph William Oliver was born about 1851 in KentuckyG.4,5
     He appeared with his mother, Jane Davis on the 1860 Federal Census of Lyon Co., KentuckyG, in the household of James Davis, who appears to have been her father.10
     Joseph married Mary Ellen Kinsolving, daughter of John Kinsolving and Mariah J. Beck, on 12 Feb 1877 in Pope Co., IllinoisG, with Jonathan Graham, justice of the peace, officating.6,7
     Joseph and Mary appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Eddyville, Lyon Co., Kentucky G, enumerated 15 Jun 1880. Their children Walter and James were listed as living with them.11
     He was a farmer by 1880.12
      He was elected sheriff of Lyon Co.G, serving from 1881 until his death in 1883. A significant part of his responsibility seems to have been the collection of taxes and fees. An act of the state Assembly approved 5 Feb 1884 authorized the administrator of his estate, John W. Clark, to collect any unpaid amounts for those years with the same powers as if he were sheriff.13
     Joseph died in Dec 1883 at age ~32.8,9

Maritta Christopher was born on 17 Sep 1883 in Cincinnati, OhioG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, G in the household of her parents, William Christopher and Emma Bacon.11
     Maritta married Frank Moulton Cobb, son of Gideon Berry Cobb and Sarah Martha McElevey, on 7 Aug 1906 in Hamilton Co., OhioG.2,7
     Maritta and Frank appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 237 Southern Ave. G, enumerated 25 Apr 1910, reporting they rented their home, apparently half of a two-family dwelling. Their children Dorothy and William were listed as living with them.12
     Maritta and Frank appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Blanchester, Clinton Co., Ohio G, enumerated 14 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. Their children Dorothy, William, Virginia, and Richard were listed as living with them.13
     Maritta and Frank appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, at 2113 McGraw Ave. G, enumerated 10 Apr 1930. Their children Dorothy, William, Virginia, Richard, and Charles were listed as living with them.14
     Maritta and Frank were divorced on 25 Nov 1935 in Wayne Co., MichiganG.8,9
     Maritta appeared with her son Charles on the 1940 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, G in the household of her daughter Virginia and her husband, Fred Lankshear.15
     Maritta died on 14 Feb 1964 in Detroit, MichiganG, at age 80.10
