     Fielding James Perkerson was born about 1804 in Amelia, Virginia.4,5,6
     Fielding married Elizabeth Ann Flora, daughter of Elisha Flora and Genette Young, on 16 Apr 1835 in Halifax Co., Virginia.1,7,8
     Fielding and Elizabeth appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 3 Aug 1850, reporting real estate valued at $1,200. Their children William, Sarah, James, Elizabeth and Fielding were listed as living with them, as was his mother, Elizabeth [surname unknown].They seem to have been living close to her cousin Melcajah Rhum Toot and his family as they were listed as the second preceding household.3
     Fielding and Elizabeth appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 11 Jun 1860, reporting no real estate but personal estate of $70. Their children Elizabeth, Fielding, Jennie and Mary were listed as living with them, They seem to still have been living close to her cousin Melcajah Rhum Toot and his family as they were listed as the seventh preceding household. In addition, her sister Harriett also was by then living close by, being listed as the fifth preceding household.9
     Fielding and Elizabeth appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 24 Aug 1870, reporting no real estate but personal estate of $100. Their children Fielding, Jennie and Mary were listed as living with them.10
     He was a farmer. In 1860 he reported had no land but did have $50 worth of implements. He reported 1 horse, 3 milch cows, 1 other cow, and 2 swine, valued at $90. In the year ending June 1 the farm produced 33 bushels of wheat, 150 of Indian corn, 80 of oats, 1,700 lb. of tobacco, 3 bushels of peas, 6 of Irish potatoes, 20 lb. of butter and $80 worth of home manufactures. He reported $109 worth of animals were slaughtered.9,10,11
     His wife died on 17 Dec 1875 in Halifax Co., Virginia.12
     Fielding died on 6 Jun 1878 in Halifax Co., Virginia.2
