     Fielding Coleman Perkerson was born on 11 Aug 1848 in Halifax Co., Virginia.8,9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of his parents, Fielding James Perkerson and Elizabeth Ann Flora.20 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of his parents.21 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of his parents.22
     Fielding married first Elizabeth J. Vaughan, daughter of George Vaughan and Nicey [surname unknown], on 20 Mar 1878 in Halifax Co., Virginia.12,13
     Fielding and Elizabeth appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 24 Jun 1880. Their daughter Mattie was listed as living with them.23
     Fielding appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 20 Jun 1900, reporting that he was renting his home. His son William was listed as living with him.24

Research Note:
It appears that Fielding's first wife died before 1900, as he is reported as a widower in the 1900 census. However in the record for his second marriage he is shown as divorced, and it is not uncommon for divorced persons to have been listed as widowed in census records. Still, no record of her has been found after the 1882 birth of her son so she may in fact have died.33,34
