Toot.12,13 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Danville, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, in the household of her parents, Jacob Davis and Catherine E. Toot.14,15 She married David Ayres, son of William Ayres and Julia Ann Henderson, and a brother of the man her sister Maria married.10,11
     Sally and David Ayres appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Danville, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, enumerated 1 Jul 1870, reporting personal estate of $500. Their son Warren was listed as living with them.16
