Five maps show the principal locations where our Cobb family lived:

  • Their son Gideon died in Connecticut at age 20, apparently unmarried.
  • William seems to have returned to Connecticut when the rest of the family left the Stillwater area. He reportedly died in New York City in 1792, but no confirming record has been found, nor any further record of his wife or their two known children.
  • Most of the children of John and Mary Fuller moved to western New York.
  • The children of Elkanah and Mary Willard seem to have been drawn very early to what was then the western frontier, in Kentucky and Indiania.
  • The children of Ebenezer and Elizabeth Lathrop mostly stayed in Vermont, moving New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin later in life.
  • The children of Joshua and Hannah Edgerton initially moved to New York, then Pennsylvania, and some later some moved to Wisconsin and Illinois.
  • The children of Wealthy Ann and Thomas Lathrop, save two, stayed in Vermont, with two of the others moving to New York to join adult children late in life.
  • Daughters Abigail and Sarah reportedly married, and left Connecticut, but no further record of them has been found.
