     Joseph MacNaughton Waterman was also known as "Rev. Joseph MacNaughton Waterman."¹ He was born on 6 October 1894 at Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida.¹ He married Louise Kyle Baldwin, daughter of Robert Moore Baldwin and Lula Elizabeth Alexander, on 6 July 1918 at Richmond, Virginia.¹ Joseph MacNaughton Waterman died on 19 December 1959 at Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia, at age 65.^1,2

     Rev. John Miller was born on 4 May 1798 at Greenbrier Co., Virginia. He was a minister of local renown, known for his colorful and moving revivals in the 1830's and 1840's. He became an instructor in religious studies Fall 1851 at Emory and Henry College, Washington Co., Virginia. During his tenure he was highly regarded by his students, several of whom followed his passion for the ministry. He died on 3 July 1863 at Washington Co., Virginia, at age 65.
