He moved to Oklahoma with his parents before 1900. He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Iowa Twp., Lincoln Co., Oklahoma,

He was listed as a farmer in the 1900 census, presumably working on the family farm. In the 1910 census he was listed as farm laborer, working out, apparently meaning he was working for others.15,16
He returned to Missouri


John has not been found in the 1920 census. He was not living with mother, who was living in Preston Twp., Platte Co., Missouri

John married first Francis Anna Morris, daughter of William A. Morris and Margaret Jennie Reigle, on 24 Jul 1926 in Leavenworth, Kansas

John and Francis have not been found in the 1930 census.
