     John K. Gann was born in Feb 1844 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Limestone Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, John Gann Jr. and Rachel Kauffman.1 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Oval, Limestone Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.15
     John married Helen M. Perry, daughter of Thomas E. Perry and Mary Elizabeth Pursel.10,11,12
     John and Helen appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 6 Jul 1870, reporting real estate valued at $600. Their children Frank and Jenella were listed as living with them.16
     He was a laborer in 1870. By 1880 he was an agent for the Wheeler & Wilson Sewing Machine Co., which may have been the reason the family moved to Virginia.17 He and Helen moved to Norfolk, Virginia, between 1875 and 1880. They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Norfolk, Virginia, enumerated 7 Jun 1880. Their children Grace and Rachel were listed as living with them.18
     His wife died on 19 Jan 1892.19,20
     John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Norfolk, Virginia, at 26 Shields St., enumerated 11 Jun 1900, reporting he owned his home, free of mortgage. His children Jenella, Rachel and Grace were listed as living with him, as was Nellie's husband, Erich Borjes.21
     John appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Limestone Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of Mary Catherine Gann and James Henry Van Dyke, his cousin and her husband.22
     John died on 11 Apr 1911 at age 67.13 He was buried in Oval Cemetery, Oval, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.14
