     Esther Leona Glabe was born on 7 Jan 1903 in Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois.7,8,9
     She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of her parents, Levi Glabe and Mary M. Schuck.4 She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of her parents.14
     Esther graduated from Washington High School, Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, in 1922.15
     Esther and her sisters Irene and Inez all moved to California in the mid-1920s, perhaps not all together. Irene is found in Long Beach in 1926. She is not found in California again, and seems to have returned to Illinois.16 Esther and Inez were there by 1927, when they were living at 527 Atlantic Ave. They lived there for a few years, but moved to Los Angeles by 1930.17
     They appeared together on the 1930 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 746 South Lake Ave., enumerated 9 Apr 1930. They were living in the Vivila Apartments, paying $42.50 per month rent.18
     Esther moved back to Long Beach by 1932, when she was living at 1233 Wesley Dr. Inez is not listed with her, and seems to have returned to Illinois about that time.19
     She was a stenographer working for the U.S. Treasury.20,21,22
     Esther married Raymond Jones, son of Henry B. Jones and Mary E. York, on 28 Aug 1933 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California, with Rev. F. W. Paap officating. He had previously been married to Daisy Barnett.10,11
     Esther and Raymond appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1901 18th St., enumerated 15 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $2,500. They reported they had lived in the same house in 1935. Three lodgers were listed as living with them, Opal Jacobs and apparently her 12-year-old daughter Donna, and William Heynechuk. There were also two individuals listed as renting apartments in their building, paying rent of $16 and $13 per month respectively.23
     Esther and Raymond appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1901 Orange, enumerated 6 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Four lodgers, George H. Marcotti, Jack Gay, Flora M. Margan, and Harry Moore, were listed as living with them.24
     Her husband died on 7 Oct 1958 in Los Angeles Co., California.25,26,27
     Esther died on 4 Apr 1991 in Ventura Co., California, at age 88.12,13
