     Matilda Christina Glabe was born on 7 Jan 1878 in Germanville, Illinois.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Germanville Twp., Livingston Co., Illinois, in the household of her parents, John Glabe and Elizabeth Ruppel.4 Matilda completed eighth grade in elementary school.18
     Matilda married William Augustus Heiple, son of Benjamin F. Heiple and Sarah Lohr, on 18 Feb 1897 in Germanville, Livingston Co., Illinois, with Rev. J. Alber of Chatsworth officiating.11,12
     Matilda and William appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 29 Jun 1900, reporting that they rented their farm. Their children Elsie and Harold were listed as living with them.19
     Matilda and William appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 9 May 1910, reporting that they rented their farm. Their children Elsie, Harold, Louis, Charles and Gertrude were listed as living with them.20
     Matilda and William appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 3 Jan 1920, reporting that they rented their farm. Their children Harold, Louis, Charles, Gertrude and Dorothy were listed as living with them.21
     They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 12 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home, for $20 per month, and owned a radio. Their children Louis, Gertrude and Dorothy were listed as living with them. Their son Robert and his family were apparently living close by as they were listed as the next household.22
     Matilda and William appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 9 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a farm with a home valued at $800, and that they had all lived at the same home in 1935. Their son Louis was listed as living with them.18
     Matilda and William appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, at 608 South Main St., enumerated 4 May 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their son Louis was listed as living with them.23
     Matilda died on 24 Dec 1958 in Washington, Illinois, at age 80.13,14,15 She was buried on 27 Dec 1958 in Glendale Cemetery, Washington.16,17
