He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.17 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.5
Jacob married Emma Amelia Goller, daughter of Friedrich Goller and Fredericka Schelling, on 6 Oct 1881 in Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois.4,10,11
Jacob and Emma moved to Farmingdale, Illinois, after their marriage, where their first four children were born.4 They moved their family to Peoria, Illinois, about 1891, where they lived at the corner of West Nebraska Ave. and North Elizabeth until about 1898.18,19 They moved their family to McDougal Ave., near Sterling Ave., about 1899, living there about three years.20
Jacob was worked on a farm, presumably his father's farm, before his marriage. No record has been found of his occupation in Farmdale, so we don't know whether he continued in farming, or learned carpentry there.21,22 He was worked as a carpenter after they moved to Peoria, reporting that he worked on houses in Peoria in 1910, and at a stockyard in Chicago 1920 in Peoria.23,24,25,26
Jacob and Emma appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Peoria Twp., Peoria Co., Illinois, on Mc Dougal St., enumerated 22 Jun 1900. Their children William, Corrine, Edna, Bernice, Myrtle, Ethel and Charles were listed as living with them.27
About 1902 the family moved to 1318 Seventh Ave.28 About 1905 they moved again, this time to 1402 Fourth St.29,30 They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, at 1402 Fourth St., enumerated 20 Apr 1910. Their children Corrine, Bernice, Myrtle, Ethel, Charles and Robert were listed as living with them.31
Jacob and Emma apparently moved their family to Chicago about 1913, as they are not listed in the Peoria City directory after that time. Chicago directories of the period list only businesses, so they are not listed there.32 Jacob and Emma appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 11045 Esmond St., enumerated 2 Jan 1920. Their children Corrine, Ethel, Charles and Robert were listed as living with them.33
They moved to Gardena, Groveland Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in mid-1923.34
Jacob died on 13 Jan 1927 in Gardena, Groveland Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, at age 71.12,13 He was buried in Farmdale Cemetery, Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois.14,15
