     Fred Henry Grishow was born on 15 Nov 1899 in Philo, Champaign Co., Illinois.10,11,12
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Urbana Twp., Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, John H. Grishow and Ameilia C. Templin.4
     He moved to Oklahoma with his parents before 1910. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Parks Twp., Kingfisher Co., Oklahoma, in the household of his parents.20
     He moved to Missouri with his parents before 1918.
     He was a farm laborer on the home farm as a youth.21 Fred registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at Savannah, Andrew Co., Missouri, reporting he was employed at farming, by his father.22 In 1930 he was listed as a farmer, working for wages, likely still on his father's farm.23
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Lincoln Twp., Andrew Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents.6 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Clay, Andrew Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents.24
     Fred married Opal Helen Jennings, daughter of Marion Elberg Jennings and Francis Anna Morris, on 14 Feb 1934 in Troy, Kansas.13,14,15
     Fred and Opal appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Andrew Co., Missouri, enumerated 2 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $5 per month, and that they had lived in rural Holt Co., Missouri in 1935. Their son John was listed as living with them.25
     He was a farmer in his own right by 1940, reporting that he had worked 52 weeks the prior year. In the 1950 census he reported he had worked 31 hours the prior week.26,27
