     George Willard Cobb was born on 7 Sep 1866 in Tennessee.6,7,8
     His father died on 11 Sep 1867, when George was 1 year old.12
     He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee, in the household of J T Gore, with his mother, Mary Celeste Phelon.13 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee, in the household of his mother.5
     George married Henri Pearl Woodard, daughter of Henry P. Woodard and Sarah F. Woodson, on 13 Nov 1895 in Fulton Co., Georgia. Why either of them was in Georgia is unknown.9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee, in the household of his mother, with Henri and their son George.14
     He was a bookkeeper in 1900, but reported in 1910 he had other income.15,16
     George and Henri appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee, at 811 Jefferson Ave., enumerated 19 Apr 1910. Their children George and Frances were listed as living with them, as were two lodgers, Fant Howard and Charles Martin. His mother was listed as living in the same building.17
     George died on 19 Sep 1915 in Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee, at age 49.2,8 He was buried on 20 Sep 1915 in Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee.2,11
