Joseph A. McCord was born on 24 Oct 1843 in Ohio.7,8,9He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Ross Twp., Greene Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, James McCord and Mary Jane Beall.14 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Jamestown Twp., Greene Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.15
Joseph married Anna Eliza Terhune, daughter of James B. Terhune and Martha M. Cobb, on 29 Nov 1866 in Jasper Co., Illinois.10,11,12
Joseph and Anna appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Willow Hill Twp., Jasper Co., Illinois, enumerated 19 Jul 1870, reporting no real or personal estate. Their children Emma and Laura were listed as living with them.16
He was a farmer.17,18,19
Joseph and Anna appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Willow Hill Twp., Jasper Co., Illinois, enumerated 8 Jun 1880. Their children Emma, Laura, John, Zetta and Mary were listed as living with them, as was his mother.6
Joseph and Anna appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Liberty, Jasper Co., Illinois, enumerated 18 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their farm, free of mortgage. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them.20
Joseph died on 21 Apr 1909 at age 65.9 He was buried in Mound Cemetery, Hunt City, Jasper Co., Illinois.13
