Sarah A. Ehle was born on 6 Nov 1844 in Mount Vernon, Ohio.7,8,9She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Mount Vernon, Knox Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents, Abraham Ehle and Elizabeth Godard.16 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Mount Vernon, Knox Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents.17
Sarah married first James H. Long, son of William Long and Mary W. Hamilton, on 30 Mar 1868 in Williams Co., Ohio, with Rev. John L. Bates, pastor of the Bryan Methodist Church, offciating.10
Her husband died on 19 Dec 1869.18
Sarah appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Bryan, Williams Co., Ohio, enumerated 5 Sep 1870, reporting real estate valued at $1,500 and personal estate of $500. Her widowed sister Armenia, who married an older brother of James, and her two children were apparently living close by as they were listed as the previous household.
