His grandchildren, Donald and Mary Elizabeth Jackson, children of his daughter Daisy, were listed as living with them.15

Martha moved to the Old Soldiers Home, Lafayette, Indiana, after the death of her husband.19
A petition to appoint a guardian for Martha was filed in Huntington Co. circuit court 20 Dec 1924. It stated that she had an estate of $1,800 and an income of $30 per month from a civil war veteran widow's pension. Perhaps the pension was anticipated, as her husband had died only nine days before, and his pension records do not reflect a widow's pension ever having been applied for.20,21
