Narrative:

Margaret Josephine Halloran was born in Mar 1876 in New York.10,11,12
She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Elmira, Chemung Co., New York, in the household of her parents, John H. Halloran and Elnora F. Faul.6
Margaret graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a nurse.5 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, at St. Josephs Hospital, enumerated 15 Jun 1900, listed as a trained nurse.17 She continued to work as a professional nurse most of the rest of her life.18,19,20,21,22,23
Margaret married Joseph Henry Garrett, son of Robert Garrett and Ellen Mary Cobb, on 21 Jan 1903 at the parochial residence of St. Peter and Paul Church, Elmira, New York, with Rev. J. C. Long officating.13,14,15
Margaret and Joseph settled in Missouri after their marriage, where he was in the lumber business. They lived there at least few months, as she was lving there when she returned home to visit her parents for a few weeks in Aug 1903. No record has been found of her returning to Missouri.24,25,26
She appeared on the 1905 State Census of Elmira, Chemung Co., New York, in the household of her parents. She is shown as married, but Joseph is not listed in the household, and has not been found elsewhere.6
Margaret was reported as visiting her parents in Apr 1907 while living in Los Angeles, California. It seems reasonable to assume she was living in California because Joseph was also there. His brother Frank was living in Los Angeles, which might have been reason for him to be there. But no record has been found of him being in California.27
She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Elmira, Chemung Co., New York, in the household of her parents. She is shown as married, but Joseph is not listed in the household, and has not been found elsewhere.28

Neither Margaret nor Joseph have been found in the 1920 Federal census.
Margaret appeared on the 1925 State Census of Elmira, Chemung Co., New York, at 717 East Washington Ave. Her brother Joseph and sisters Kathrine and Nellie were listed as living with her, as was an aunt, Margaret Faul, age 70.30
Margaret appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Watkins Glen, Schuyler Co., New York, at 406 Glen Spring Corporteor, enumerated 19 Apr 1930, listed as a nurse in the household of William M. Leffingwell, president of the Glen Springs Sanitarium, and his wife and five children.31 She returned to Elmira in Dec 1931.32
Her husband apparently died between 1930 and 1940.33,34
Margaret appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Elmira, Chemung Co., New York, at 719 East Washington Ave., enumerated 4 Apr 1940, with her brother Joseph and sister Catherine. They reported they owned a home valued at $3,000, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935.35
Margaret died on 15 Jul 1960 in New York at age 84.16
Her estate was probated in Jul 1962 in Chemung Co. Surrogate's Court. Her brother Joseph was named executor and sole heir. Her estate listed personal property valued at $6,000, and no real property.36
