     Frances Roney was born on 3 Aug 1861 in Kenosha Co., Wisconsin.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pleasant Paririe, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin, in the household of her parents, Samuel Roney and Mary Muldoon.14 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Pleasant Paririe, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin, in the household of her parents.6
     Frances married James P. Caruthers, son of John P. Caruthers and Flora Rivers McNeill, about 1883.11,12,13
     Frances and James lived with his parents, at 739 Sedgewick St., Chicago, after their marriage.15 They and their son John moved with her parents to 4 Burton Place St. by 1885.16
     Frances and James moved with their son John out of his parent's home, to 217 Schiller St., about 1887.17
     Frances and James appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 1723 Belmont Ave., enumerated 2 Jun 1900, reporting they were renting their home. Their children John, James and Mary were listed as living with them.18
     Frances and James appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 4352 Lake Ave., enumerated 21 Apr 1910, reporting they were renting their home. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them.19
     Her husband died on 21 Jun 1916 in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.20,21
     She had become the proprietor of a driving school by 1930.22
     Frances appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 4414 Drexel Blvd., enumerated 29 Apr 1930, reporting she was renting her apartment, for $100 per month, and owned a radio. Her daughter Mary was listed as living with her.23
     Frances appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 5498 Cornell Ave., enumerated 10 Apr 1940, reporting she was renting her apartment, for $63 per month, and had lived in the same city in 1935. Her daughter Mary was listed as living with her, as were three lodgers, two hotel bell boys and a social worker.24
     Frances died on 21 Oct 1942 in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at age 81.4 She was buried on 23 Oct 1942 in Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois.4
