Alma B. Hurst was born on 16 Aug 1878 in Missouri.5,6,7She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Andrew Co., Missouri, in the household of her parents, Elijah Hurst and Margaret A. Best.12
Alma married first Oscar B. Bailey, son of Edward Spotswood Bailey and Virginia Gallaway, on 12 Sep 1899 in Savannah, Andrew Co., Missouri, with Rev. L. B Wiles officating.2,8
Oscar had moved to Gentry Co. before their marriage, and he and Alma settled there after they were married.13 They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cooper Twp., Gentry Co., Missouri, enumerated 18 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their farm, which was mortgaged. William Joel Wrightsman, a farm laborer age 25, was listed as living with them and shown as a servant. Apparently he was working on the farm while Oscar worked at the ice plant. He and Alma married after Oscar's death.14

Alma moved to St. Joseph after the death of her husband. She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri, at 2720 Olive St., enumerated 18 Apr 1910, listed in the household of her sister Pink and her husband, Russell C. Pullen.16 She moved to 2901 Lafayette St. by 1912.17
Alma married second William Joel Wrightsman, son of William A. Wrightsman and Euphema J. Kimbrell, on 15 Jun 1913 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri, with John M. Asbell officiating.9,10
Alma died on 27 Jul 1914 at age 35.5 She was buried in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Andrew Co., Missouri.11
