     William H. Gallaway was born about 1830 in Pennsylvania.4,5
     How William came to be in Missouri is unknown. He has not been found in the 1850 census, either in Pennsylvania nor in Missouri, nor in likely states in between.
     William married Angelina Brady, daughter of Benjamin Brady and Sophia Flora, before 1860.6,7,8
     William and Angelina settled in Andrew Co. after their marriage. They appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Platte Twp., Andrew Co., Missouri, enumerated 12 Jul 1860, reporting no real estate but personal estate of $1,570.1
     William and Angelina appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Platte Twp., Andrew Co., Missouri, enumerated 21 Jun 1870, reporting real estate valued at $2,490 and personal estate of $620. Their daughter Virginia was listed as living with them.2
     He was a farmer.1,2
     William died before Sep 1871.9
     William died intestate (without leaving a will) and letters of administration for his estate were issued on 28 Sep 1871 in Probate Court, Andrew Co., Missouri, to Phillip Cook. He posted a bond of $1,000.9
     The administrator filed his first settlement 20 Jan 1872. It showed that he had collected $311 from sale of personal property, and the widow had taken $107 worth of property. He had paid her $194 in cash, and after his commission of $15.50 and other expenses there was a balance of $79.10 He filed a final settlement 16 Dec 1873, in which he reported some additional expenses and the distribution of the $79 balance in the to the widow.11
