     Eugene appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Milton Twp., Wayne Co., Ohio, enumerated 18 Jun 1900, in the household of John Kauffmann and his family, working as a farm laborer and listed as a boarder. His future wife and her uncle were apparently living close by, as they are listed as the second following household.12
     Eugene married Anna Bell Blough, daughter of Moses J. Blough and Sarah Gerard, on 17 Sep 1905 in Wayne Co., Ohio, with Rev. S. Ezra Neikrk officiating.8,9,10
     Eugene and Anna appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Green Twp., Wayne Co., Ohio, enumerated 22 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their farm, which was mortgaged. Their daughter Gladys was listed as living with them.13
     Eugene registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at Smithville, Wayne Co., Ohio, reporting he was self-employed as a farmer in Smithville.14
