     Bruce Clark Welch was born on 10 Jan 1890 in Berwick, Pennsylvania.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Fairmount Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, George H. Welch and Mary C. Rood.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hunlocks Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.5
     He was a laborer, doing odd jobs at age 18.18
     Bruce registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 337 Shawnee, Plymouth, Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed as a driver for L. & W. B. Coal Co. in Plymouth.19
     Bruce married first Liva L. McKeel, daughter of Samuel McKeel and Dorah Culver.11
     Bruce and Liva appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Salem Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 13 Jan 1920, reporting that they rented their home. Their daughter Margaret was listed as living with them.20 Bruce also appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Courtdale, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.21
     Bruce and Liva were apparently divorced about 1921 as she married his brother Horace shortly after that.
     Bruce married second Olive Blanch Souder, daughter of Joseph Souder and Sarah E. Reigle, on 4 Mar 1921 in Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, with L. T. Seward, justice of the peace at Shickshinny officiating.12,13,14
     Bruce and Olive appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at 20 Search St., enumerated 9 Apr 1930, reporting that they were renting their home, for $10 per month, and owned a radio. Their children George, Beatrice and Robert, and her children by her prior marriage, Pauline, Glenn, Inez, Harry and Alvin, were listed as living with them.22
     Olive died on 25 Jan 1935 in Madison Twp., Columbia Co., Pennsylvania.23,24
     Bruce appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at 12 South Canal St., enumerated 3 May 1940, reporting that he was renting his home, for $8 per month. His children George, Beatrice, Robert and Sarah were listed as living with him. They reported they had lived in the same town in 1935.25
     He became a teamster by 1920, and by 1930 a lumberman. In 1940 he was a laborer, doing road work. He reported he had been out of work 156 days, but had worked 40 weeks the prior year, earning $560.26,27,28,25
     Bruce registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 12 South Canal St., Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed by S. Poley Lumber Works, in Sweet Valley, Luzerne Co.1 By 1950 he was cutting timber, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week.29
     Bruce appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, at 12 East Buttler, enumerated 3 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm. His children Beatrice and Sarah were listed as living with him.30
     Bruce died on 6 Jul 1966 at age 76.15,16 He was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania.17
