Narrative:

     Abraham Sheldon Edgerton was born on 19 Feb 1807 in Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.5,6,7
     He was probably one of the four males under age 10 listed in the household of his father, Jacob Edgerton, in the 1810 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.12 He was probably one of the two males age 10 to 16 listed in the household of his father in the 1820 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.13
     Abraham married Rachel Fitch Cobb, daughter of Joshua D. Cobb and Nancy F. Clark, and his cousin's daughter, on 12 Jan 1843 in Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.8,9,10
     Abraham and Rachel moved to Wisconsin in 1846, spending their first year at Lake Geneva, where her brother Robert had already settled.14,15,16 Abraham and Rachel moved to Lima, Rock Co., in 1847, and settled on a farm there, accompanied by her father.17,18,19,20
     On 1 Jun 1848 Abraham and Simeon E. Cobb, his cousin, were granted a patent for 40 acres of land in Rock Co., Wisconsin, under the Cash Entry Act of April 24,1820.21 He was a farmer.22,23
     Abraham and Rachel appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Lima, Rock Co., Wisconsin, enumerated 20 Aug 1850, reporting real estate valued at $2,000. Her father and her sister Mary were apparently living close by as they were listed as the preceding household.22
     Abraham and Rachel appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Lima, Rock Co., Wisconsin, enumerated 5 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $6,600 and personal estate of $1,800. Her father and her sister Mary were listed as living with them, as was Charles Fracy, age 21, possibly a hired hand.23
     Abraham died on 23 Feb 1864 in Lima, Rock Co., Wisconsin, at age 57.11,9
