Abraham Sheldon Edgerton was born on 19 Feb 1807 in Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont

Abraham married Rachel Fitch Cobb, daughter of Joshua D. Cobb and Nancy F. Clark, and his cousin's daughter, on 12 Jan 1843 in Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont

Abraham and Rachel moved to Wisconsin in 1846, spending their first year at Lake Geneva,
