     18 Ella O. Steinning was born on 25 Nov 1867 in Hartsville, Indiana.7,8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Decatur Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents, Henry Steinning and Emily Crafton.19 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Sand Creek Twp., Decatur Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents.5
     Ella and John Joshua Cobb, her future husband, both graduated from Franklin College, Franklin, Indiana, with bachelor of science degrees in 1887.20,21
     She was a teacher in Hartsville, Indiana, for the 1887-1888 term.22
     Ella married John Joshua Cobb, son of Elkanah Cobb and Sarah Jane Youtsey, on 10 May 1888 in Lett's Corner, Decatur Co., Indiana, at her parents' residence, with L. B. Albert offciating.11,12,13
     Ella and John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Jackson Co., Indiana, enumerated 2 Jun 1900, reporting that the family owned its home, which was mortgaged. Their children Henry and Agnes were listed as living with them, as was a servant, 15-year-old Carrie Thiel.23
