     Sarah Jane Youtsey was born on 22 Dec 1831 in Kentucky.5,6,7
     She moved to Indiana with her parents by 1840. She was probably one of the two females age 5 to 10 listed in the household of his father, John Youtsey, in the 1840 Federal Census of Jackson Co., Indiana.13
     Her father died on 6 Sep 1840, when Sarah was 8 years old.14
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Hamilton Twp., Jackson Co., Indiana, in the household of her mother, Elizabeth Davis.15
     Sarah married Elkanah Cobb, son of Joshua Cobb and Nancy Crawford, on 6 Apr 1854 in Jackson Co., Indiana, with Rev. Orsamel Gilbert offciating.8,9,10
     Sarah and Elkanah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana, enumerated 14 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $20,000 and personal estate of $3000. Their children Nancy and John were listed as living with them, as were Susan Dutch, age 22, and Charles Ferguson, a laborer.16
     Sarah died on 18 Jul 1866 at age 34.7,11 She was buried in City Cemetery, Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana.12

While it is possible that he could have married after the birth of Nancy, given the long gap after the birth William, it seems more likely she was also Sarah's child.
