     Lucy Barnaby was born on 7 Dec 1837 in Wrentham, Suffolk, England.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1841 U.K. Census of Wrentham, Suffolk, in the household of her parents John Barnaby and Maria Ball.21 She appeared on the 1851 U.K. Census of Wrentham, Suffolk, in the household of her parents.5
     Lucy married first John Elliott between Jul and Sep 1859 in Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England.11,12,13
     Lucy and John appeared on the 1861 U.K. Census of Clerkenwell, Middlesex, at 11 Wharton St., enumerated 1861. Their son Robert was listed as living with them, as was a household servant, Judith Frost, age 14.22
     Lucy and John arrived in New York on 10 Jan 1866, with their children Robert, Winifred and Agnes, aboard the SS City of London sailing in cabin class. His occupation was listed as "gentleman" and hers as "lady." Also apparently traveling with them was a 21-year-old servant, Jane.23,24
     No further record of her husband has been found.
     Lucy married second Elkanah Cobb, son of Joshua Cobb and Nancy Crawford, on 2 Feb 1870 in Johnson Co., Indiana.14,15,16
     Lucy and Elkanah appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana, enumerated 25 Jul 1870. His children Nancy, John and Abraham were listed as living with them, as are her children by her prior marriage, Robert, Winifred and Agnes Elliott.25
     She and Elkanah appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Jackson Co., Indiana, enumerated 10 Jun 1880. Their daughter Alice was listed as living with them, as were his children by his prior marriage, Nancy, John and Abraham, and her daughters by her prior marriage, Winifred and Agnes Elliott. There were also two laborers apparently employed on the farm, Thomas Miskel, age 32, and Simon Larue, age 30.26
     Her second husband died on 4 Nov 1887 in Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana.27,28
     Lucy appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana, in the household of her daughter Alice and her husband, Nels Magni Carlson.29
     Lucy died on 16 Apr 1906, at the home of her daugher Alice, 404 North Walnut St., Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana, at age 68.17,18 She was buried on 18 Apr 1906 in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, Jackson Co., Indiana.19,20
