     12 Dorothea Johanna Vasterling was born on 6 Dec 1867 in Missouri.6,7,8
     Her father died on 30 Nov 1869, when Dorothea was 1 year old.13
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of St. Louis, St. Louis Co., Missouri, in the household of her mother, Johannah Floerke.14 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of New Haven Twp., Franklin Co., Missouri, in the household of her mother.15
     Dorothea married John F. Imel, son of Thomas Imel and Violetta Riegel, on 23 Aug 1892 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri, with Rev. Carl C. Nestel officiating.9,10
     Dorothea and John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri, at 1006 18 St., enumerated 1 Jun 1900. Their daughter Mildred was listed as living with them.12
     Evidently the Reigels in the Pacific Northwest maintained contact with their Gapsch cousins in Missouri. On 11 Jun 1909 the regular feature of a Portland, Oregon, newspaper listing those registered in the local hotels noted that "Mrs. J. F. Imel, St. Joseph, Mo." and "Miss Ida Reigel, LaCenter, Wash." were registered a the Nortonla Hotel.16
     Dorothea and John appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri, at 1006 18 St., enumerated 4 Apr 1910, reporting that the family owned its home, free of mortgage. Their daughter Mildred was listed as living with them, as was her mother, Johannah Floerke.17
     Dorothea and John moved to Los Angeles, California about 1915, initially living at 623½ S. Spring.18 They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1236 Crown Hill Ave., enumerated 5 Jan 1920, reporting that they were renting their home. Their daughter, Mildred, and her husband are shown as living in the same dwelling.19
     Dorothea and John moved to 7133 Huges Ave. by 1925.20 They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 3756 Hughes Ave., enumerated 8 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home valued at $9,000, and had a radio.21
     Her husband died on 7 Feb 1937 in Los Angeles Co., California.22
     Dorothea appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Kansas City, Jackson Co., Missouri, in the household of her daughter Mildred and her husband, James Clarence Neenan. She reported that she had lived in Palms, California, in 1935.23
     Dorothea appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Kansas City, Jackson Co., Missouri, in the household of her daughter Mildred and her husband, James.24
     Dorothea died on 5 Dec 1954 in Los Angeles Co., California, at age 86.11
