Thomas and Violetta moved their family to King City, Missouri, a small town some 30 miles north east of St. Joseph, between 1876 and 1880. They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Gentry Co., Missouri, at King City, enumerated 11 Jun 1880. His brother Peter and his wife moved there about the same time.21,22 Thomas and Violetta appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri, at 633 Albemarle, enumerated 6 Jun 1900, reporting that the family owned its home, which was mortgaged.
