Narrative:

     Mary Wood Cobb was born on 13 Aug 1856 in Cobbs Mill, Lyon Co., Kentucky.6,7,8
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Eddyville, Caldwell Co., Kentucky, in the household of her parents, Thomas Jefferson Cobb and Almeda Glenn.16,17 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Eddyville, Lyon Co., Kentucky, in the household of her parents.18
     Mary married David P. Glenn, son of David B. Glenn and Lucinda V. Threlkeld, on 4 Mar 1874 in Lyon Co., Kentucky.9,10,11
     Mary and David appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Fredonia, Caldwell Co., Kentucky, enumerated 2 Jun 1880. Their children Hugh and Robert were listed as living with them.19
     Mary sold her undivided interest in their father's home place to her brother Giles on 11 Nov 1884, receiving $400 in cash, and two notes for $100 each, one due 1 Apr 1885 and the other a year later. They were recorded as paid off 17 Jan 1887.20
     Mary and David appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Marion, Crittenden Co., Kentucky, enumerated 19 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their daughter Luella was listed as living with them.21
     Her husband died on 22 Jun 1904.22
     After the death of her husband Mary moved to Texas, were her son Hugh and his family were living. She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Houston, Harris Co., Texas, at 809 Pierce, enumerated 20 May 1910, apparently boarding with James L. Wood, his wife and their five children. She was listed as his mother, but she was not. If she was more distantly related the relationship has not been found.23
     Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Beaumont, Jefferson Co., Texas, in the household of her daughter Luella and her husband, Joseph Beasley Hutchison.24
     Mary died on 16 Sep 1925 in Temple, Bell Co., Texas, at age 69.12,13 She was buried on 17 Sep 1925 in Hillcrest Cemetery, Temple, Bell Co., Texas.14,15

There is room to question whether Ruth was actually the daughter of David and Mary. She is listed as such in the 1900 census, her husband shows Mary as his mother-in-law in the 1920 census, and her death certificate, with her husband as informant, shows Mary Glenn as her mother with father unknown. But she was born some 20 years after David and Mary's two sons, and is shown as daughter of their son Hugh in the 1910 census. It seems quite possible Ruth was actually his daughter, born before his marriage.31,32,33,34
