Joseph Beasley Hutchison was born on 15 Sep 1893 in Liberty Hill, Williamson Co., Texas.6,7,8He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Williamson Co., Texas, in the household of his parents, Joseph B. Hutchison and Lettie A. Phillips.4
Joseph married Luella Ruth Glenn, daughter of David P. Glenn and Mary Wood Cobb, on 5 Jun 1916 in Harris Co., Texas, with Rev. A. B. Buchanan, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, officiating.9,10,11
Joseph registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at Mingus, Palo Pinto Co., Texas, reporting he was employed as fuel inspector by the Texas and Pacific Railway Co. in Mingus.2 He reported in 1920 he was a fuel expert for a motor corporation.15
