Narrative:

Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Schlüter was born on 20 Mar 1865 in Zichow, Preußen.8,9,10 She was baptized on 7 Apr 1865 in Evangelische Kirche, Zichow, Preußen.1
She immigrated to New York with her parents, Christian Friedrich Schlüter and Maria Justine Caplick, about 1869.19,20,21
She appeared on the 1875 State Census of Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, in the household of her parents.5
Her mother died between 1875 and 1880, when Friederike was about 12 years old.22
Friederike appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, in the household of her father.6
Friederike married Friedrick A. Fenker, son of Hermann Heinrich August Fenneker and Marie Christine Engel Striethorst, on 24 Feb 1886 in Hamilton Co., Ohio, with Rev. H. W. Pohlmeyer officiating.11,12,13,14
A "good-looking" driver for their dairy was the source of quarrels between the Fenkers. Friedrick accused him of being too friendly with his wife, and fired him 18 Aug 1895. After another quarrel, Friederike "donned her best attire" and went to the city, "just to give her husband a scare." He took their two children, Harry and Elsie, to the home of his sister Louise and her husband. When Friederike returned home her husband was "in a contrary mood" and declined to return the children. A few days later she filed suit for return of the children and for alimony, charging extreme cruelty and that he had unjustly accused her of infidelity.23
Evidently they resolved their differences, as they continued to live together and had two more children.
Friederike and Friedrick appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Kincaid Road, enumerated 5 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Harry, Elsie and Helen were listed as living with them, as were George Mealol and Frederich Kolle, listed as boarders.24
Friederike died in 1908.15,16,17 She was buried in Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Cemetery, Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., Ohio.18
