Narrative:

Friedrich August Fenker was born on 20 Sep 1862 in No. 100, Brockum, Kingdom of Hanover.5,6,7,8
He was baptized on 28 Sep 1862 in Evangelische Lutherische Kirche, Brockum, Kingdom of Hanover, with pastor Stendel officiating, and his cousin Brinksitzer (farmer) Friedrich Hinrich Bültemeyer; Hermann Friedrich Striethorst, infantry man and farmstead heir; and Friedrich HeinrichRösche, neé Lehsmann (but he has as his birth name listed as Rösche), Abbauer (farmer) as witnesses.1
He immigrated to the United States in 1878, settling in Cincinnati.18,19,20 In the United States he "Americanized" the spelling of his first name and his surname, being known as Friedrick A. Fenker.21,2,22
Friedrick married Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Schlüter, daughter of Christian Friedrich Schlüter and Maria Justine Caplick, on 24 Feb 1886 in Hamilton Co., Ohio, with Rev. H. W. Pohlmeyer officiating.9,10,11,12
     Friedrick was naturalized in 1893.23,24,25
A "good-looking" driver for their dairy was the source of quarrels between the Fenkers. Friedrick accused him of being too friendly with his wife, and fired him 18 Aug 1895. After another quarrel, Friederike "donned her best attire" and went to the city, "just to give her husband a scare." He took their two children, Harry and Elsie, to the home of his sister Louise and her husband. When Friederike returned home her husband was "in a contrary mood" and declined to return the children. A few days later she filed suit for return of the children and for alimony, charging extreme cruelty and that he had unjustly accused her of infidelity.26
Evidently they resolved their differences, as they continued to live together and had two more children.
Friedrick and Friederike appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Kincaid Road, enumerated 5 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Harry, Elsie and Helen were listed as living with them, as were George Mealol and Frederich Kolle, listed as boarders.21
He was a dairyman, in 1895 reported to have 27 cows, five horses and three wagons. He retired from the dairy business in 1912.27,28,29,30
     His wife died in 1908.31,32,33
Friedrick appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 3235 Harrison Ave., enumerated 19 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their farm, free of mortgage. His children Harry, Elsie, Helen and Frederick were listed as living with him, as well as a housekeeper, Margaret Malebury, a Kentuckian aged 45, and 10- year-old Evelina Malsbury who appears to have been her daughter.34
After he retired from the dairy, he continued to be engaged in other occupations. In 1920 he was a taxicab driver, and by 1930 was the proprietor of an ice delivery business.35,36
Friedrick appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 3242 Harvest Ave., enumerated 10 Jan 1920, reporting he owned his home, free of mortgage. His children Helen and Frederick were listed as living with him, as was Lawrence John Kreidler, age 2, Helen's adopted son.22
Friedrick appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his daughter Helen and her husband, Arthur Gabriel, living in his home at 3298 Harvest Ave.37
Friedrick died on 22 Nov 1936, at his home, 3298 Harvest Ave., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at age 74.13,14,15 He was buried on 25 Nov 1936 in Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Cemetery, Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., Ohio.16,17
