     Marian's parents were divorced when she was three months old, and she never knew her father. Her mother remarried and Marian used the surname of her stepfather, Archibald H. Schultz, though he did not legally adopt her.4,2,12 She was known until her marriage as Marian Schultz.
     She appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of her mother, Lillian Battersby, and stepfather, Archibald H. Schultz.13 She appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of her mother and step-father.14
     Marian married Edward Allen Fenker, son of Alfred William Fenker and Jessie Blanch Billiter, on 24 Oct 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio.8,9,10
     Marian and Edward appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Reading, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 62 Gorman Terrace, enumerated 5 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.15
