     Edward Allen Fenker was born on 21 Jan 1920 in Cincinnati, Ohio.9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Alfred William Fenker and Jessie Blanch Billiter.4 He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.5
     He was a clerk before the War.18,19 He registered for the draft for World War II on 1 Jul 1941, while living at 2622 Grover Hill Ave., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed by Rathkamp Bros Co., retail coal dealers in Cincinnati.1,20

He was a member of the first class to enter the Air Corps Replacement Training center established at Kelly Field, Texas. The class took five weeks of basic military training and ground school there.24 He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in Aug 1942, after completing 27 weeks of flight training at the Gulf Coast Air Force Training Center at Randolph Field, Texas.25
     Edward married Marian Ruth Johnston, daughter of Frank Irving Johnston and Lillian Battersby, on 24 Oct 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio.12,13,14
     Edward was promoted to Captain in Jan 1944.26 He served in Africa and Italy, becoming a flight leader there before being assigned to Alaska's Aleutian Islands about Jun 1944. He was promoted to Major in Mar 1945.27 He became commander of the 77th Bombardment Squadron (Medium). By the end of the war the squadron was based on Attu Island, the westernmost of the Aleutian bases. Flying B-25 "Billy Mitchell" bombers, the squadron made steady attacks on the northern home islands of Japan.28
     He led his squadron home to Seattle, Washington, in Oct 1945.28 Edward was dicharged 13 May 1946.29

     Edward and Marian appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Reading, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 62 Gorman Terrace, enumerated 5 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.30
     He was a salesman for Roddis Panel and Door Co., reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 44 hours the prior week. By 1960 he was a salesman for Acme Sash & Door, continuing in that field the rest of his career by 1951.31,32,33
     Edward died on 17 Mar 1989 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at age 69.15,11,16 He was buried on 21 Mar 1989 in Cemetery of Spring Grove, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the lot owned by his wife's step-father.17
