Sara Gardner Dickinson was born on 21 Oct 1869 in MichiganG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw Co., MichiganG, with her parents, Horace E. Dickinson and Cleantha E. Gardner, in the household of her paternal grandparents.13 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw Co., Michigan, G in the household of her parents.14
     Sara married Frank W. Garrett, son of Robert Garrett and Ellen Mary Cobb, on 16 Nov 1899 in Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG.7,8,9
     Sara and Frank appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 227 West 7th St. G, enumerated 4 Jun 1900, listed as boarders, along with 30 others, in the home of Herbert G. Dow and his wife and twin daughters.15
     Sara and Frank appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 620 So Grand Ave. G, enumerated 29 Apr 1910, listed as lodgers. The address, though not identified in the census record, was the Heinzeman Hotel.16
     Her husband died on 23 Apr 1911 in 2309 Ocean View Ave., Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG.17,18,19
     In Oct 1912 her mother, having lost her husband the previous year, and her sister Mary, came to Los Angeles to spend the winter with Sara.20 Her mother died at Sara's home, at 4515 Russell Ave., G on 22 May 1913, after an illness of several months.20,21,22
     Sara appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1237 South Alvarado St. G, enumerated 7 Jan 1920, reporting she rented her home.23
     Sara appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 532 South Catalina St. G, enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting she rented her home, for $90.00 per month, and did not own a radio. Georgia B. Masser, a 46 year-old stenographer, was listed as a lodger in her home.24
     Sara appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 532½ So Catalina St. G, enumerated 11 Apr 1940, reporting she rented her home, for $35 per month, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Anna M. Wiggs, a 55-year old public school teacher, was listed as living with her.25
     Sara died on 8 Jul 1957 in Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG, at age 87.10,11 She was buried in Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG.12
