Mary Burton Danks was born on 14 Aug 1865 in Lexington, KentuckyG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG, in the household of her parents, William Newton Danks and Susan A. Llewellyn.11 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, G in the household of her parents.12
     Mary married Robert Lee Caruthers, son of John P. Caruthers and Flora Rivers McNeill, on 7 Mar 1887 in Cook Co., IllinoisG.7,8,9 They reportedly received wedding gifts worth $4,000.13
     Mary and Robert appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 3751 Elmwood Pl. G, enumerated 2 Jun 1900, reporting they were renting their home, part of a three-family unit. Their children Robert and David were listed as living with them.14
     Mary and Robert appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, G in the household of her parents.15
     Her husband died on 5 Aug 1911.16,17
     Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 4014 Grand Blvd. G, enumerated Feb 1920, lodging in the home of Arthur Hannum and his wife, along with another lady and a family of four.18
     She was a saleslady at wholesale dry goods firm after her husband's death, and later an assistant bookkeeper.19,20
     Mary died on 15 Feb 1925 in Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG, at age 59.10 She was buried on 17 Feb 1925 in Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG.10
