2 Robert registered for the draft for the Civil War, appearing on the register dated in Jun 1863, while living in Caldwell Co., Kentucky

12 He was a farmer in Kentucky, and identified himself as a market gardener after moving to Texas.
13,14,15 In the 1880 census he reported owning 13 acres of tilled land valued at $3,000, tools and implements worth $200, and $260 worth of livestock. He reported one horse, 2 mules, one milch cow and two other cows which had produced 60 lb. of butter the prior year, and a total value of all products of $1,000.
16 Robert died on 24 Sep 1885 at age 53.
