Heinrich Wilhelm Herfurt and Christana, on 23 Mar 1881, on the steamship
Weser, having departed from the port of Bremen. They were shown on the passenger list as from Saxony, with a stated destination of St. Louis, and having traveled in steerage. His sister,
Sophie, and her husband and their children traveled with them.
11 Emma was left with a doctor's family in Afton when her father moved the rest of the family west after her mother died. Apparently she was to act as a nanny to the doctor's children in exchange for her room and board.
12 Emma married Henry Todebusch about 1902.
