Mary Taylor was born on 5 Apr 1875 in Wilkes-Barre, PennsylvaniaG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, G in the household of her parents, James P. Taylor and Margaret D. Ayres.13
     Mary married Norman Stewart, son of Bryce Stewart and Sallie West Cobb, on 23 Nov 1897 in Montrose, Susquehanna Co., PennsylvaniaG, with Rev. A. L. Benton, pastor the Presbyterian Church, officiating.7,8,9
     Mary and Norman appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, on South Main St. G, enumerated 14 Jun 1900, reporting that the family owned its home, mortgage free. Their son Norman was listed as living with them, as were two servants, Lizzie Dolan, age 18 and a cook, and Carrie M. Hibbard, a widow age 26 and a nurse.14
     Her husband died on 3 Jan 1910 in Montrose, Susquehanna Co., PennsylvaniaG.15,16,17
     Mary appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, G in the household of Sallie West Cobb, her mother-in-law, with her two sons Norman and John.18
     Mary appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Montrose, Pennsylvania in the household of her mother, Margaret D. Ayres, enumerated 24 Apr 1930.19
     She was the owner of a ladies shop by 1930, retired by 1940.20,21
     Mary appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania G, enumerated 10 May 1940, reporting she rented her home, for $30 per month, and that she had lived in the same town in 1935.
