Research Note, 25 May 2009: According to family tradition, Edward Lloyd Cobb was a descendant of Robert Livingston Cobb, and Robert's grandson Irvin S. Cobb was a great-uncle of Edward's daughter Virginia. However, Edward's father was Frank Cobb, and there is no known Frank Cobb who was a descendant of Robert who could be Edward's father. Sharon Noyes is certain that this Frank Cobb was Micajah C. "Frank" Cobb born about 1859 to Micajah Cobb and Mary J. Cavanah, both of Henderson, Kentucky. That is consistent with Edward's birth in Henderson, according to his draft registration. There is no known connection between this Cobb line and the Barnstable Cobb family.30,31,32,33,34
