7,8 Frank deserted Ada "soon after" their marriage, causing "bad blood" between their families. On 1 Apr 1889, Frank attacked Ada's younger brother Chester on the veranda above Sigler's store in Boxville, Kentucky
G. He fired two shots before Chester could draw is pistol, then both fired until their pistols were empty. Frank died within minutes from a shot that pierced his left breast just above the heart. Chester was wounded in his right shoulder and left ankle, but recovered. He was acquitted after an examining trial found he acted in self-defense.
