     She was known to family as Manie, or Mamie.13,14,2 Mary C. Tapscott was born in Dec 1868 in Tennessee.9,10,11
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of Dr. Joshua Cobb and Marina Turner Bryan.15
     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of her father, John Baker Tapscott, and stepmother, Katie A. Pagram.6
     Mary moved to Montrose, Pennsylvania, where several of her mother's sisters also moved, sometime before 1900. She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of Sallie West Cobb, her late mother's sister.16 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her aunt Sallie.17
     Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, at 27 Maple St., enumerated 6 Jan 1920, rooming with Chester Watrous and his wife Katherine, a few doors down from were her aunt Sallie was boarding.18
     She was a bookkeeper, in a doctor's office in 1910, and for the Presbyterian Church in 1920.19,20
     Mary died in 1924.12 She was buried in Dec 1924 in Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania.13
