     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cross Roads Twp., Martin Parish, North Carolina, in the household of her parents, Joseph B. Coffield and Elizabeth Pender.4
     Mary married Thomas Henry Crudup, son of John Boddie Crudup and Ellen Meshew McNeill, on 17 Oct 1900 in Poplar Point Twp., Martin Co., North Carolina, at the home of her father, with Rev. Francis Joyner officiating.11,12
     Mary and Thomas appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Kittrell Twp., Vance Co., North Carolina, enumerated 30 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage.
