     Louis Montgomery Ussery was born on 29 Apr 1897 near Lone Oak, Montgomery Co., Tennessee.6,7,8
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of his parents, Sterling Samuel Ussery and Mary Elizabeth Harris.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of his parents.16
     Louis registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1918, while living at Clarksville, Tennessee, reporting he was employed as his father.17 He enlisted in the U.S. Army 6 Sep 1918, serving as a private until 11 Mar 1919.18,19
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of his parents.20
     Louis married Ledley Logan Cobb, daughter of Dr. Robert Linah Cobb Jr. and Mary Louisa Logan, about 1929 in Trenton, Todd Co., Kentucky.9,10,11
