     William Presscott Attkisson was born on 21 May 1888 in Walnut, Kansas.7,8
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Walnut Twp., Bourbon Co., Kansas, in the household of his parents, Robert G. Attkinsson and Mary C. Ham.4 He appeared on the 1905 State Census of Walnut, Bourbon Co., Kansas, in the household of his parents.15 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Walnut Twp., Bourbon Co., Kansas, in the household of his parents.16
     William married first Cecil M. McBride on 29 Mar 1911 in Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., Kansas, with W. R. Russell, probate judge, officiating.9,10,11
     William and Cecil appeared on the 1915 State Census of Walnut Twp., Bourbon Co., Kansas, reporting they were renting their home. Their daughter Lela was listed as living with them.17
     William registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at Walnut, Kansas, reporting he was a farmer.2
     William and Cecil moved to California about 1919. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Whittier Twp., Los Angeles Co., California, on Mulbury, enumerated 15 Jan 1920, reporting they were renting their home. Their children Lela, Mary and Chester were listed as living with them.11
     His wife died on 17 Feb 1930 in Los Angeles Co., California.18,19
     William appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Baldwin Park, Los Angeles Co., California, at 233 So. Bressee St., enumerated 2 Apr 1930, reporting he owned a home valued at $2,500, and owned a radio. His six children were listed as living with him.20
     William married Eleanor Sarah Shaw, daughter of William Shaw and Ades Solomon, on 30 Oct 1930 in Los Angeles, California, with Rev. William E. Maison officating.5
     William and Eleanor in Baldwin Park were apparently separated, or even divorced, before 1935, as she reported in 1940 that she had been living in Los Angeles while he had continued to live in Baldwin Park. In 1940 while he reported he was married, she reported she was widowed and had resumed use of her previous married name. He reported he was divorced in 1950.21,22,23
     William appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Baldwin Park, Los Angeles Co., California, at 233 So. Bressee St., enumerated 29 Apr 1940, reporting he owned a home valued at $2,000. His four younger children were listed as living with him, all reported living in the same house in 1935.24
     He was a farmer in Kansas, and after they moved to California. In the 1930 census he reported no occupation, but a few months later he was working as a roofer.17,11,25,26 He was a gardener working for county forestry by 1940. That year he reported having worked 40 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,200.24
     William registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 233 So. Bressee Ave., Baldwin Park, California, reporting he was employed by Los Angeles County Forestry, at Morgan Park.27 He later worked as a carpenter, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week. He also reported working 26 weeks in 1949, earning $1,800 in wages or salary, and $3,100 in interest, dividends, etc.28,29
     William appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of El Monte, Los Angeles Co., California, at 3805 Bresee, enumerated 7 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm and he lived in the same house the year before.30
     William married third Ruth Katherine Glabe, daughter of Sebastian Glabe and Anna Katherine Ruppel, on 27 May 1950 in 872 Walnut Ave., Monrovia, Los Angeles Co., California, with Rev. P. A. MacDiarmid, Baptist minister, officiating. She had previously been married to Rachel Elizabeth Glabe.12
     After their marriage, William and Ruth lived in her home at 872 W. Walnut Ave., in Monrovia.31 They moved to 511 East Olive Ave, in Monrovia, by 1955, where they lived until her death.32
     William died on 14 Oct 1970 in Los Angeles Co., California, at age 82.13 He was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Los Angeles Co., California.14
