     John Henry Glabe was born on 25 Aug 1893 in Groveland, Illinois.9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Levi Glabe and Mary M. Schuck.5 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.6
     John was graduated from Washington High School in 1912.17
     John registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living in Washington, Illinois, reporting he was employed as a farmer, in Washington Twp. He did not claim exemption.1
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, reporting his occupation as farm laborer, "working out."18
     John married Nancy E. Burroughs, daughter of Thomas William Burroughs and Catherine M. Corliss, on 16 Jan 1924 in East Peoria, Illinois.12,13
     John and Nancy appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 22 May 1930, reporting they were renting their farm, and did not own a radio. Their three children were listed as living with them.19

     By 1946 he was working for R. G. LeTourneau, manufacturers of heavy construction equipment, in Peoria.21
     John and Nancy appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, at 800 Spring St., enumerated 13 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.22
     He was an order clerk at a wholesale paper company by 1950, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week.23 By 1952 he was working for Peoria Paper House as a warehouseman in 1952.24
     John died on 16 Jan 1974 in East Peoria, Tazewell Co., Illinois, at age 80.14,15 He was buried in Glendale Cemetery, Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois.16
