     Louis married Bertha M. Van Velson, daughter of William Henry Van Velson and Laura Ann Wise, on 18 Nov 1908 in Melvin, Ford Co., Illinois.11,12,13
     Louis and Bertha appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Germanville Twp., Livingston Co., Illinois, enumerated 12 May 1910, reporting they rented their farm. Guy Coleman, a 26-year-old hired man was listed as living with them.3
     Louis and Bertha moved to Forrest Twp. by 1917. He was listed in the 1917 edition of the Prairie Farmer's Reliable Directory of Farmers & Breeders as operating a 195 acre farm owned by Mrs. S.
