     17 LaVerna Elizabeth Schuck was born on 13 Apr 1909 in Peoria, Illinois.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, in the household of her parents, George W. Schuck and Katie Elizabeth Oetzel.4
     She moved to Urbana with her parents between 1910 and 1912. She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of her parents.5
     She was a domestic before her marriage.1
     LaVerna married Charles Thomas Daugherty, son of Charles F. Daugherty and Wilhelmina Rogalski, on 5 Nov 1928 in Covington, Fountain Co., Indiana, with Asa Osborn, justice of the peace, officating.11,12,13
     LaVerna and Charles appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Champaign Twp., Champaign Co., Illinois, enumerated 18 Apr 1930. Their daughter Joanne was listed as living with them. They are listed in the same dwelling as his parents. The enumerator initially recorded them as a single household, then changed the entry to reflect separate households in the same building. According to the instructions, this was to mean "they occupy separate portions of the dwelling house and their housekeeping is entirely separate."18
     LaVerna and Charles appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Champaign, Champaign Co., Illinois, at 1610 W. Church St., enumerated 18 Apr 1940, reporting they were renting their home, for $35 per month, and had lived in the same city in 1935. Their daughter Joanne was listed as living with them.19
     LaVerna and Charles were seperated by 1950, or perhaps even divorced as he reported in the 1950 census, while she reported she was still married.20,21 LaVerna appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Champaign, Champaign Co., Illinois, at 61 East Healey, enumerated 7 Apr 1950, listed as a lodger in the home of Otis C. Carson, a locomotive engineer, and his wife. Her occupation was shown as housekeeper at a private home, presumably that one. Her daughter Joanne was listed as living with her.22 Charles was listed as living in the Mark Twain Hotel in Chicago.23
     LaVerna and Charles evidently reconciled, as the later were living together. They were living at 105 E. Healey, in Champaign, by 1958.24
     Her husband died on 16 Mar 1979.25,26,27
     LaVerna died on 8 Oct 2007, at her home, Mahomet, Illinois, at age 98.14,15 She was buried in East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois.16
